Jeff Watson

A Canadian music veteran, Jeff Watson rose to notoriety in the early 2000’s as a member of the musical quartet and R & B group, Distinct Nature. The group was signed to EMI/Hibias Records releasing one album with 4 songs that Jeff co-wrote that earned heavy rotation on Canadian Hit Radio, including the hit single, “Human.” which achieved top 10 status on the CHR charts. The group shared the stage with award-winning musical acts: Usher, Monica, Tyrese, LFO and O Town. In 2004 Jeff formed the inspirational rock group, Kronical, where the group was invited to be the opening act for Grammy-winning musician John Legend and renowned Canadian musicians K-os, Trooper and Shaye (Kim Stockwood, Tara Maclean and Damhnait Doyle).
In 2007 Jeff transitioned from in front of the camera to fully behind the scenes, focusing on music management, songwriting and production. Founding Jubal Entertainment, Jeff began offering consulting services to leading artists, talent management teams, and production houses in Canada and the US.
In 2008 Jeff co-founded, Sanctity in the City, an inspirational women’s zine, that featured inspirational content such as interviews with The Bachelorette’s Tenley Mohzan, author Barbara Colorosso, and Canadian musical icons Julie Black and Amy Sky, “Sanctity in the City,” quickly developed a monthly digital readership of 10,000 subscribers, which caught the eye of renowned Canadian television executive Lorna Dueck of the faith-based current events show, “Context with Lorna Dueck.” Coming on board as a freelance producer, Jeff co-produced episodes for “Context with Lorna Dueck,” including a highly rated special on the untimely passing of music icon Whitney Houston.
In 2009 Jeff and his wife Lara, founded ThinkLove Media, a production company dedicated to spreading positive messages that change the world for the better. As long-time advocates of child and youth mental health and wellness, Jeff and Lara decided to produce a live action television and streaming series that would teach and reach children aged 9-12. The series was seen by thousands of students across Canada. With funding acquired and endorsements from the Ministry of Education for The Province of Ontario, School Mental Health Ontario, OPHEA- Ontario Physical Health Education Association and The Ministry of Education for Alberta, “Sunny, Ev, Lulu and Me,” was born.
In 2012, Jeff and Lara Watson joined forces with Saloon Media/Blue Ant Media and “Sunny, Ev, Lulu and Me,” evolved further into an animated streaming series and digital app for children aged 7-11. The production successfully received funding from Ontario creates, The Telus Fund, The CMF and TFO, and was co-written with Ins Choi, creator and founder of the hit Canadian Comedy series Kim’s Convenience, and Franklin Young (Paw Patrol).
In 2015 Jeff launched the consulting and digital divisions of ThinkLove Media, consulting thought leaders, business leaders, artists, sports figures and public figures, including Maple Music founder and CEO Grant Dexter. Together Jeff worked with Grant to develop a new fan experience/ticketing company, Grant is now CEO of the popular digital platform and app, that focuses on the world of NFT’s Fanaply.
In 2017 Jeff and Canadian music industry veteran Farley Flex developed and produced a new television series for CBC, that celebrated black culture, hip hop music, and East Coast Canadian culture. This aspirational urban comedy series about a rapper from Newfoundland was highly lauded by Canadian media outlets and was green lit for production at CBC just as the pandemic hit.
In 2019 Jeff and his wife Lara Watson, accepted Lorna Dueck and Crossroads Christian Communication’s invitation to become the Senior Executive Producers of 100 Huntley Street, the longest running daily show in Canadian history and the sixth running longest show in the world. Seen by over 450,000 Canadians a week and millions on Youtube. As part of the 100 Huntley Street team, Jeff focused on reaching new audiences through innovative content which included; music series with Grammy nominated musicians Mark Masri and Roy Hamilton III, partnerships with Roma Downey’s Lightworkers and New York Times bestselling author Karen Kingsbury, John Tesh, a marriage event with Grammy winning musician, Cece Winans and Pastor A.R. Bernard, founder of the largest church in New York City, and a Star Wars special featuring Roger Christian, the designer and creator of the Light sabre, The Millenium Falcon and R2D2, A special that featured the creators of the hit TV/Streaming series “The Chosen”
In 2021 Jeff took on the role of Guesting Producer for a brand-new show called, “The Perspective with Mike Sherbino.” This faith-based current events television show quickly grew in popularity. Since the shows inception, it has been Broadcast on several major Broadcast Networks (Vision TV, YES TV, The Miracle Channel, CHCH and CHEK) that each reach approximately 4-6 million households. While working with The Perspective, Jeff helped shape the vision and direction of the show, created strategic partnerships with Organizations, Influencers, Publicists, American Broadcast marketing agencies and other media outlets. In addition to building partnerships Jeff shaped the content of the show by establishing weekly themes/scripting/interview questions and also booked high profile guests: AR Bernard, John Tesh, Darryl Strawberry, George Foreman, Forest Whitaker, Pat Robertson, David Green (CEO Hobby Lobby), SQquire and Louise Rushnell, David Nurse, Several Professional sports team Chaplins (George and Tondra Gregory -LA Chargers, Dave Ripper – Boston Bruins, Herbie Khun – Toronto Raptors, Toronto Argonauts) Lisa Bevere, Addisson Bevere, Karen Kingsbury, Roger Christian (Star Wars Inventor) and many more.
